This year we’re launching the next generation of TCO Certified – generation 8. To start with, we’re publishing the criteria draft, which is now open for stakeholder comment, until May 31.

The draft is ambitious, and includes many new and updated criteria. The aim is to drive even further sustainability progress in phases or the product life cycle where the criteria can have the most impact. With generation 8, we want you to join us in taking the next step towards a sustainable life cycle for IT products.

View the draft and provide your comments

View and comment on new and updated criteria, download draft documents, comment on drafts, catch the latest news and sign up for webinars and workshops.

All product categories will now be generation 8

In the next generation draft, the majority of criteria are the same for all product categories. The criteria documents for all product categories will therefore have the same generation number: 8.

New look, easy to use criteria documents

We have made several changes to the criteria documents, making them easier to read, and easier to apply for certification.

  • New and updated criteria are marked “NEW” and “REVISED”.
  • Verification methods are presented alongside the criterion.
  • Criteria that apply to all product categories have the same number.
  • All forms to be filled in and signed are collected in a separate chapter.
